Vanguard™ Goes Digital Allen-Vanguard, the global security specialist, has launched a digital version of its mini ROV, the Vanguard™.The new version of the Vanguard has been upgraded with a digital command console enabling 'plug and play' accessory functionality, intuitive control and full interoperability with its sister ROV, the BombTec*#153; Defender. The digital architecture means new devices can be added to the ROV 'network' and controlled remotely without returning the remotely operated vehicle to the workshop and suffering downtime.Combined touch screen and hard controls mean multi functioning is easy - for example, lights and cameras can be controlled while driving forward or the arm can be manipulated when steering. In addition, the hand controller can be removed from the console to provide limited functionality via Bluetooth - this is particularly useful for training, maintenance and driving the ROV in and out of its transporter. "This new version of the Vanguard(TM) is robust and versatile, and can confidently perform an extensive range of first response functions," explains Glyn Buckler, sales director at Allen-Vanguard.
