In the case of a rotary actuator a gearbox, clutch or brake and angular position sensor are also typically present.For a linear actuator the following components are usually present: DC brushless, resolver, gearbox, ball or roller screw, clutch / brake and position sensor. All the components are integrated in a housed assembly.
